Lead Generation Specialist

You will build the top of our sales pipeline through targeted outbound prospecting, qualifying leads, and booking meetings for our business development team.

Full-time|Office-based with flexibility|Posted February 2026

About this role

Bigfoot Networks is investing in outbound lead generation to support our growth. As a Lead Generation Specialist, you will identify target businesses, initiate contact, qualify interest, and book meetings for our Business Development Manager. You are the starting point of relationships that often last years.

This role is about quality, not quantity. We are not looking for someone to blast out hundreds of templated emails a day. We want someone who can research a prospect, craft a relevant message, and start a genuine conversation. Our target market is UK businesses with 10 to 250 users, and the most effective approach is personal, informed, and respectful of their time.

You will work closely with our marketing and sales teams, using a combination of email, phone, LinkedIn, and events to generate qualified conversations. You will have access to good tools, clear messaging, and a service offering that genuinely helps the businesses you are reaching out to.

Structured onboarding

What you will do day to day in this role.

The core responsibilities of this role. This is what your typical week looks like, though no two weeks are exactly the same.

Outbound prospecting

Research and identify target businesses that fit our ideal client profile. Initiate contact through email, phone, LinkedIn, and other appropriate channels. Personalise your outreach based on the prospect’s industry, size, and likely challenges.

Lead qualification

Qualify inbound and outbound leads against defined criteria: company size, current IT setup, budget, timeline, and decision-making process. Ensure that meetings booked are with genuine prospects, not tyre-kickers.

Meeting booking

Book qualified meetings for the Business Development Manager. Provide thorough briefing notes for each meeting including company background, the contact’s role, their stated challenges, and any relevant context gathered during qualification.

CRM management

Maintain accurate records in our CRM for every contact and interaction. Track outreach activity, follow-up schedules, and pipeline progression. Use data to identify patterns and optimise your approach.

Campaign execution

Support marketing campaigns with targeted outreach. Follow up on event attendees, content downloads, and website enquiries. Coordinate with the marketing team to ensure consistent messaging across all touchpoints.

Market research

Stay informed about the industries and businesses in our target market. Identify trigger events such as office moves, growth announcements, security incidents, or technology changes that create opportunities for conversation.

The skills and experience we are looking for.

The skills, experience, and qualities that will help you succeed in this role. If you meet most of these but not all, we still want to hear from you.

Outbound experience

At least one year of experience in outbound sales, lead generation, or business development. You should be comfortable picking up the phone, writing prospecting emails, and engaging people on LinkedIn. B2B experience is strongly preferred.

Communication skills

Clear, professional communication in writing and on the phone. You can craft an email that gets opened and hold a phone conversation that builds interest. You adapt your tone to the person you are speaking with.

Research ability

Ability to quickly research a business and understand their likely challenges. You can spot the difference between a good prospect and a poor one, and you focus your energy where it will have the most impact.

Resilience and persistence

Outbound work involves hearing no more often than yes. You are resilient, self-motivated, and able to maintain a positive attitude and consistent activity levels over time.

CRM proficiency

Experience using CRM systems to track activity and manage contacts. You understand the importance of clean data and accurate record-keeping.

Organisational skills

Ability to manage multiple follow-up sequences, campaigns, and tasks simultaneously. You are disciplined about scheduling and follow-through.

Not essential, but nice to have.

These are not requirements, but they would be a bonus. If you have any of the following, mention it in your application.

IT sector experience

Experience in the IT services, managed services, or technology sector. Understanding of the language and challenges helps.

Sales engagement tools

Familiarity with platforms such as Apollo, Salesloft, or Outreach for managing outbound sequences and cadences.

CRM experience

Hands-on experience with HubSpot, Salesforce, or similar CRM platforms for tracking activity and pipeline.

Social selling

Understanding of LinkedIn Sales Navigator and social selling techniques for building relationships online.

Email deliverability

Knowledge of email deliverability best practices, cold outreach compliance (GDPR, PECR), and sender reputation.

Content collaboration

Interest in working with the marketing team to create content that supports outbound campaigns and prospecting.
